Tarkan, the Turkish megastar, also known as The Prince of Bosphorus, amazed us all with a
showstopping medley at the Joy Awards 2025 this January - a breath-taking, one-of-a-kind
performance, both for the MENAHT world and for the Western world to adore.
Held yearly in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia by the MBC Group, the Joy Awards are a celebration of
joy and entertainment : their focus is on artistry and talent in the Middle East as well as
internationally.
Endowed with a celebrities’ purple carpet and a towering eight-storey performers’
structure, the Joy Awards were graced by the likes of Andrea Bocelli accompanied by an 80-
piece orchestra, and fellow international celebrities such as: Anthony Hopkins, Matthew
McConaughey, Amanda Seyfried, Morgan Freeman, Christina Aguilera and many influential
local Arab celebrities and Turkish celebrities.
Tarkan has literally made the show one not to be missed. An immersive experience,
displaying iconic talent with a start-studded attendance of music, television, sports and
movies legends on an international platform.
Tarkan’s five-minute medley stole the show during its finale, with a thrilling and career-
encompassing performance, featuring viral hits such as: “Kuzu Kuzu” , “Dudu”, “Geççek”
“Şımarık- Kiss Kiss” and “Şıkidim”.
The audience’s crowds joined dancing and singing during Tarkan’s medley in standing
ovation. Tarkan’s enchanting classic songs, choreographed by an army of skilled backup
dancers, were truly electrifying and mesmerizing.
Tarkan remains one of the few legendary entertainers who, as a dazzling live performer,
possesses an enduring talent, spanning over three decades, managing astounding charts’
success in its native Turkish all around the globe.
His albums have sold over 15 million copies. Throughout his career, he has won four Turkey
Music Awards, six Golden Butterfly Awards and one World Music Award and has received
several global nominations.
Tarkan is due to undertake his European tour this year, stopping over in London for one of
his dates in the UK during early May.
